About Me

This is me. Am I a GUITARIST ? I own several, can play a few chords (well more than the usual 3 required) and I have an expensive capo. A SINGER ? Kind of, and I know loads of songs. MANDOLIN player? sure! all eight strings in one hit, all the time every time. BASS player? occasionally but its not my strong point. SONG WRITER? infrequently, but I nearly had a hit in Poland with Paper Boat. ENTERTAINER? possibly, as I'm getting too old and too fat to be anything else. MUSICIAN? hardly but I LOVE to Play music. I Started out as a folkie in 1991 (Unicorn Folk Club/Arthur Doherty Band), Played in lots of pub duos (Lost Without a Drummer/ The Wrong Trousers to name two). I gave up my proper job in 1996 and formed RUMPUS an almost famous duo who toured constantly throughout Britain and Europe and recorded three Albums. After 4 years on the road I decided to give up playing music and sold all my instruments (that lasted for about 3 months). Since 2001 I have just played when ever the opportunity arrises, having fun and sharing great moments with an array of talented musicians and Old friends. I've got two giging bands at the moment. (but take advantage of every opportunity to play with almost anyone who asks and everyone who'll have me) Eds Two Hats is the latest name for my 4 piece pop/rock/party covers band. Just classic songs everyone knows and loves. Long sets, good humour and lots of people dancing are the order of the day. Tap The Keg is my 3 piece Folk/Skiffle/Old Time Band. Uncomplicated Foot Tapping Hand Clapping singalong songs that you feel you've known all your life. Audience participation is almost unavoidable. My outlook is simple, I enjoy music more than (almost) anything else. Sharing it with others is a pleasure and a privilage. I put everything I've got into it and never take it for granted. I believe Life is too short to listen to crap music; so I try not to play any!

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: not yet
Band Members: I hardly ever do solo gigs these days, so generally I call on some old friends and together we call ourselves EDS TWO HATS (or The Ed Case Band in polite company!) These long time musical allies are; GEORGE STEBBINGS, been there, done that, got the T shirt, wrote the book and is still mad for it who plays Bass. DEN YORKE, laid back to horizontal and who's never afraid of the wrong note at the right time, plays Guitar. PAUL CREWE rythym king, Music shop owner and every bands friend! plays Drums. BEBEE SEA is brilliant at everything (but he never quite sees it that way) and plays Drums, Bass and Guitar as required. STEVE (the Ghost hunter) CHEW, entertaining and scary is first reserve on Drums. and finally STEVE WILLIAMS is a dep Guitarist extraordinaire. TAP THE KEG is the name of my most recent project and we have just recorded our first Album. George and I are joined by KIERAN G SMITH, an all round good egg who plays loads of different instruments. Finally I must mention the VILLAGE IDIOTS; Gaz,John,Dave,Gez Aiden, George and Den. Musical (most of the time) Fund Raisers with whom I am proud to be involved.
Influences: All GOOD music because life is just too short to listen to crap. Real life musical heroes are Martin Dale, Jim Fox and Bebee. Respect to everyone who understands that music is entertainment first, art second and anything else way back in third.
Sounds Like: Tap The Keg, Eds Two Hats, and Rumpus
