Mary Kettering is currently principal second violin with both the Ashland and Lima Symphonies, was a member of the Huntsville Symphony for several years, and has also played with the Nashville Symphony. In addition to her classical music activities, Kettering is the newest member of the bluegrass band New Southern Drive. She was a member of the bluegrass band Faces Made for Radio for four years, and has also toured with the Celtic rock group, Ceili (Kay-lee) Rain.
Kettering has a BM in violin performance from Baldwin-Wallace College and a MM in violin performance from Belmont University. Her teachers include Elisabeth Small, Julian Ross, Gary Kosloski, and David Edge on violin, and she has had fiddle lessons with Bobby Hicks, Brian Wicklund, Megan Lynch, Casey Driessen, Daniel Carwile, and Craig Duncan.
Private violin and fiddle lessons are available with Mary Kettering through Mike's Music Corner in Ashland, OH and Skyline Music in Westlake, OH. Kettering also organized the Dr. James Feldman Tribute and Benefit Concert which took place on October 4th, 8pm, at the United Methodist Church of Berea.
