About Me

Red wine and smooth whiskey flavor this singer/songwriter's voice. Wild honey adds a soothing note to the city edges this country-raised singer has developed. A smooth driven style, her music appeals to young and old, in love, about to be in love, and the in search of something new. Sheryl Crow meets Martina McBride!
Christie began her performance career at a very young age, entertaining passing cars on long trips to Grandma’s house by singing Delta dawn out of the old Volkswagen's window at the highest decibel possible for a 5 year old. In the words of her mother, “She never stopped singing! She sang in her room, in the tub, walking down the hall, at the dinner table, there were times we wondered if she could actually speak with out singing.”
At the age of 9, Christie’s father decided it was time to test how determined this budding vocalist was to perform. So one Saturday afternoon, at the V.A. domiciliary where her father worked as a Respiratory Therapist, he gathered every patient that he could into the auditorium. There, he had Christie sing every song she knew and was perplexed at her level of comfort on stage with no formal training.
At the age of 12, Christie wrote her first song. A wrenching song about love, heartbreak, and not fitting in. Her father was amazed that a 12 year could write a song with such intensity. At that point, Dad decided it was time she had her first guitar.
As one thing led to another, Christie spent the next ten years playing with a wide variety of bands throughout northern Texas and southern Oklahoma. She competed in numerous radio station talent searches and competitions, and accumulated several titles and awards along the way. In 1992, she took a break from the music scene after the birth of her first child.
Fast forward to 2004. As most musicians are not strangers to hard times and trauma, Christie ended up in a complicated position in life. Within the span of one year, Christie lost her adored father to pancreatic cancer, and her husband of 13 years to a marriage that wouldn’t work. Finding herself suddenly single and very alone, with three children to raise, no Job, and no direction, Christie turned to the only thing in life that had never failed her: her music.
Picking right up where she left off, she began writing again. This time, songs full of questioning, hope and desire. As Christie began filtering through the coffee shops, restaurants and bars of northern Texas again, it wasn’t too long before the “buzz” started back up. Some times alone, some times with another riveting guitarist (Renee’ Murray), Christie belted out songs with a soulful signature that caught the attention of every listener who had lived or was living through a little of life's lovely complications. After only a year back in the music scene, Christie Landed a “music spotlight episode” on the nationally aired Television series “Best of America By Horse back”.
Christie relocated to Houston in the summer of 2007, in hopes of being closer to a more diverse music scene where her style and audience could expand. Christie has just ventured out into the lively world of acoustic musicians who call the gulfcoast and central Texas home. So keep your eyes and ears open for her next performance, because in the words of Bo Bullock’s Black Hawk Records…..”This girl is unstoppable in the entertainment industry. She won’t be going anywhere but up!”
