Jorge Luis Almarales was born in Santa Clara, Cuba on Sep 5, 1967. Almarales is a very talented acoustic and electric guitarrist, composer and arranger. He is graduated from the Santa Clara School of Arts. He founded the rock band "Alto Mando" in Santa Clara during the 80's. He moved to Havana in the early 90's to start playing with the well known Cuban rock band "Arte Vivo". After 5 years Almarales moved on to play with the Afro-Cuban Rock band "Sintesis" and played with them for another 5 years. With "Sintesis", Almarales travelled around the World and participated in many renown festivals like: "Jazz A Vienne" in Austria , "Finland Pori Jazz Festival", "Music Bridge in Havana", "Montreux Jazz Festival" in Switzerland, Mexico City Music Festival, L.A, amoung others.
Almarales decided to change his path and moved to Miami in 2000. He has played for Univision T.V shows like "Don Francisco", Escandalo T.V, Mega T.V, for Channel 41, etc.
He is presently playing with the bands "Arte Vivo" & "CUBICHE". He is also a private guitar teacher and a studio musician. He has recorded with Arte Vivo, Cubiche, Sintesis,Alto Mando & Corner 3, among others.
