Trailing Grayson

About Me

Chris and Joel formed Trailing Grayson in 2005 after hearing each other’s music and seeing the potential in combining their vocal, guitar and songwriting talents. The result is a distinct sound and style unmatched by any acoustic artist on the scene today. With just two guitars and two voices, TG can fill a room like a full-on rock ’n roll band. Trailing Grayson is storming the scene—catch the next show and see for yourself!Chris Gough’s vocals have been described as “soulful, energetic, and powerful.” From 1995 to 1999 he fronted the J in Mary, a Virginia-based rock band. The J in Mary played the East Coast circuit under the management of East Coast Entertainment out of Richmond, frequenting venues such as CBGBs and the Elbow Room in New York City and the Bayou in Washington D.C. The J in Mary recorded two studio albums, “Choice Words” and “Token,” which sold in the thousands and received heavy regional airplay. In 2001, Chris formed the acoustic duo Eventide, located in Southwest Virginia. Chris’s original music blends multiple influences, including Southern rock, blues, bluegrass, folk and soul.Joel’s vocals and guitar work have been called “smooth, melodious, and moving.” Joel played lead guitar and sang with the Philadelphia-based rock band Feedback from 1998 to 2002. Feedback made a name for themselves by playing all over PA and NJ and working with Grammy-nominated producer David Ivory (The Roots, Erykah Badu, Silvertide). Joel started his solo, acoustic project Joelseph in 2002 after moving to Richmond, VA. His engaging songs are amplified by penetrating lyrics and singable choruses, a unique combination of acoustic indie rock and singer/songwriter with a pop sensibility. His solo EP, “Objects in the Mirror,” was recorded in March 2004 in Richmond, VA. Websites: Joelsephmusic.com, myspace.com/Joelseph
