How can you see what's ahead when you keep looking behind you?

About Me

So, my name is Jeremy A. and I'm what you might call...me! I've got a beautiful wife named Lisa and a twin brother named Chris. In general I'm pretty laid-back and calm most of the time. I try to live my life by the motto 'forgive and forget' as that is how our Lord treats us, but sometimes it's so much more difficult than that. My life changed direction a short while ago (shortly after my marriage) and God opened my eyes to a new possible path for me. I'm still praying about whether this path is the one I need to take, but for now it seems I'm being lead in that direction. We'll have to see what happens. Well, that's a little bit of me in a nutshell.

My Interests

Okay, so, without question I love music. I also like doing what most guys like doing: playing video games, hanging out with my buds, going to movies, playing and watching sports, spending that quality time with my new wife, etc. I do, however, read sometimes (see below) and can occassionally be found curled up with a good fiction novel.

For those of you who don't know, I used to play guitar and sing back-up vocals for a local Springfield band called Seventh Reason. After discussions with the guys in the band we came to a mutual agreement that my time with the group had come to an end and it was time for me to move on. However, the split was on good terms and I wish the band luck in the future with whatever they do. There are no hard feelings and no negative comments will be said by either them or me about the line-up change.

Finally, another big interest in my life is my wife, Lisa, who I am very much in love with. We've been married a short time, but it's been an exciting ride in which I can't wait to see where it goes.

I'd like to meet:

I like meeting anyone who provides good conversation and a good laugh. I love making new friends and Lisa and I are always on the lookout for good Christian couples to hang out with. "Miracle" by The Whitest Light

Music:

Let's see here...the list of music and artists I like would probably be longer than most people would care to read in one sitting. So, to sum it up, I like it all! Well, mostly all of it. I used to think I didn't like country all that much, but after listening to some of it here and there with Lisa I've decided it's not too bad...as long as it's the contemporary stuff. I don't think I like that classic twang stuff. I don't much get into rap unless I'm in the mood to get up and move a little. I don't know how you can listen to rap, R and B, or hip hop without moving around. The thumping of the bass usually rattles everything not nailed down or super-glued to something else. Gotta love it sometimes! But, my real passion lies mostly with alternative music. Some of my favorite groups include Mae, Seether, Evanescence, Dashboard Confessional, New Found Glory, Sugarcult, and the list goes on and on.

Movies:

HA! I'm probably going to be chastized because of this, but I like a good Sci-Fi movie. And, can we say "comic book" movies? Good, because I like those, too. I like movies that make you think. No, I'm not talking about those artsy kind that are so weird you don't know what you've just watched. I'm talking about movies such as Identity or Secret Window. I'm also a John Cusack fan as well. However, something can be said for a good comedy, chick-flick, or horror movie...especially when watching it with that special someone. Wink, wink!

Television:

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a TV junkie, but I have been known to watch a few shows. I wasn't able to catch the first episodes of 'Heroes', but it's definitely on my save list for Netflix and I'll be watching all of them when the season's over. Other than that, I'll catch a different show here and there in between work and hobbies.

Books:

Okay, if you've never read anything by Stephen R. Lawhead, you might wanna check this guy out. He's personally my favorite author of all time, and I absolutely love his Pendragon Cycle. There are 5 books in the set, and it details the years leading up to and the years during the time of Merlin, King Arthur, and the Holy Grail. It's so interesting and I found that it actually captivated my emotions more than any other book or set of books.

Heroes:

Man, to pinpoint just one would be difficult! But, I generally admire those who began with a dream, pursued it through difficult times, finally reached their goals, and then surpassed them to go above and beyond what they ever imagined. Plus, to do all that while maintaining their initial morals and goals are even more amazing! This is exactly what I'd like to do in my lifetime.
