I am an Erie girl. I was born and raised in a southwest neighborhood where my folks still live today. What "inspired" us to market a LOVE-ERIE T-Shirt was my request for a Christmas gift featuring the new logo. We had spotted the billboard on I-79 with the new LOVE-ERIE logo, and I mentioned that I would like that on a T-shirt. I decided that's what I would ask my Dad for, since he always buys one "special" gift just from him for my sisters and me.
My parents called everywhere, without any results. What had been a simple request for Christmas was suddenly turning into a huge ordeal. It was only a T-shirt featuring the new Erie logo, right? How hard could it be? Unfortunately, it was a bigger task than they'd ever have dreamed. No one carried the new design.
Not long after the holidays, we decided there must be other people out there, locals and tourists alike that would be thrilled to have a LOVE-ERIE shirt or cap. What better way to show everyone what a great place Erie is, both as a hometown and a place to visit? So, after a few conversations with the local marketing company that came up with the new logo and a local printer, we were off and running...
Currently, the design is available on short or long sleeve T-shirts, sweatshirts and caps. Future plans include embroidered polos denim and oxford shirts and jackets. We can be reached at [email protected]
