Profile GeneratorKenny Sanders has been playing guitar since he was twelve years old. He also played clarinet and bassoon in junior high school in Beaumont, TX. He helped form bands like White Hart, and Akela, before he was 16 years old. He moved to Houston and played with Maddaxe for a year, and then formed his own band Tundra. In 1986 Kenny won The Fender/Eric Clapton Scholarship Contest to The Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood Ca. He was quickly seen by the L.A.-based band Fanz, who was produced by Ronnie James Dio and Niji Management. Kenny had been in Hollywood for less than four months, and his first show was opening up for the band Great White, at a sold-out show at The Palace Theater. After a year with Fanz, Kenny joined Lydia Van Huston, and toured with Robin Trower and Blue Oyster Cult. While in Lydia’s group, Kenny began working on his own instrumental material. In 1993, Kenny moved back to Beaumont to pursue his teaching and consider recording a CD. After working with Marlin Productions on a pilot for a sit-com entitled "Best of Show", Kenny returned to Hollywood and worked with Jimmy Hunter, owner of Cazador Studios. Kenny was an assisant recording engineer for Della Reese’s, Understanding Principles for Better Living, and also played guitar for one of Jimmy Hunter’s clients, Jeffrey Michaels. Kenny is now back in Beaumont, teaching and writing, and recording new material. While back in Texas, Kenny played with Honey Island. That was when he got into the Roland GR-20 Guitar Synthesizer. He further developed his synth style playing with Laurel and The Untouchables, where he played a very wide range of musical styles, including some big band classics. Kenny has been working on various songs and ideas over the past couple of years, but began recording on a Tascam 8-track hard disc recorder one of his students bought. He ended up getting one, and recorded the CD, "Morning Takes". " Most of this was recorded in the two weeks between the NFC Championship Game and The Super Bowl. It’s all me and the Roland. I’m getting ready to do this stuff live, and I am also working on the next one"! Kenny plans to have his next CD, "Tuxedo Gig", recorded and out before this Christmas. " Summer is coming, so look for some local gigs, as well as touring with Blackbead himself "! Kenny plans to bring instructional videos to his myspace page, as well as video of students and some of his own home recording tips. For now, we hope you enjoy, Morning "Takes".
