S.Kaa & Barok, discovered rap music more than 15 years ago with the first albums of Beastie Boys, Public Enemy or De la Soul. This new music coming through Europe takes the ears of the two friends in hostage. Hit by the Stockholm syndrom (when the victim likes his kidnapper) they decide to go further than just listening hip hop and they infiltrate the brand new born movement in Belgium. Barok, who already had night wall writings activities, becomes an mc in the group IDO and meets the others actors of the scene, especially thanks to the Zulu Nation (Fourmi, Defi-J, Naf). S.Kaa starts to mix rap music and to collect some vynils. Eventually, Barok putted his solo side aside and bought a sampler and a sequencer to begin musical creation. S.Kaa, who is journalist in the "real" life, leaved his technics MKII and became a concentrate lyricist. They create, with their friend Foster Blade, the band "Triangle Parallele". The trio quickly transforms into a quintet with the arrival of James Deano and DJ?. The name of the band also changed : Profil Bas (low profile) was born. A lot of mixtapes (Gens d armes, Alerte, 4680, Cinquieme element) in Belgium and France and some concerts (ULB, Foyer de Braine l Alleud, Rixensart, Liege, Chesnais) further, the band splitted and everyone follows his own path. Foster takes a trip to Germany, James Deano puts out his first solo single (Branleur de service, Bulldoprod 2003) whereas Barok, DJ ? et S.Kaa find themselves into "Da Bazement", a musical production structure create by Barok and his friend and bass player Yum Brunner. S.Kaa & Barok know well the other bands of the belgian scene but one, who comes from Liege, shares the same values : La Tourbe. Together, they create RainyDayz, a label able to support their combinated ambitions and to put their songs on the market without any kind of external pressure. After the first 12 inch of the label (De mon Bic à tes Baffles from the band La Tourbe in 2002) and the street CD "Rares et Inedits", its the turn of the duo to spread their words to the streets with their first EP in 2004 : Memoires mortes (dead memories). This mini-album (7 tracks included a featuring with La Tourbe) is the product of several years of hard working for the two emcees tryin' to offer something different to a public feed of mainstream and formated rap. High quality lyrics and fat instrumental (produced by Barok) are the mark of the band. S.Kaa & Barok have defend their EP on stage (Dour Festival, Francofolies de Spa, Live Reaction St Gilles, On the grounds Liege,...) with their DJ (DJ?) and on the radios. Now they are working on their second venue. Barok concentrate on the beats and let S.Kaa do the lyrics. The band was rebaptized "Darwin 101" in order to illustrate the evolution of the group as well of the music. In the same time, the two are part of the band from outta space : "Invaderdz" (with their fellow emcees Behybe, Hofusk, Lado and Sabeer. They participate to the long awaited album of the alien rappers : UFOLOGIE.
