Con sus raíces en la Cordillera de los Andes, Conjuros mezcla jazz y blues con folklore Suramericano. Los Chamanes entregan interpretaciones poderosas, rítmicas y conmovedoras de canciones de los mas grandes autores de Chile y Argentina, como Victor Jara, Violeta Parra, Congreso y Peteco Carabajal, y también la prosa de su propio autor, Ricardo Cuevas. Parece que encontraran el lugar exacto donde la gente de cualquier origen, estilo o edad puede juntarse y compartir: poesía en todas sus formas. Hablan de la tierra y de sus habitantes, de cosas sencillas y profundas, con nostalgia y alegría. Cada canción tiene sentido, aun los temas instrumentales cuentan.
Imaginen un encuentro de Silvio Rodríguez con Lila Downs con Inti-Illimani con Congreso. Pero quién hallan aquí sin duda son: Los Chamanes.
Breves años tras el inicio del nuevo milenio, se comenzaron a trenzar en Nueva York las historias de seis músicos intuitivos, naturales, todos chilenos, cada cual con su trayectoria artística y especializado en su instrumento musical. Estos varían, desde los instrumentos autóctonos, como el charango, el cuatro, la quena, el bombo, el kultrun, hasta instrumentos clásicos y contemporáneos, como el bajo eléctrico, saxofón, piano y batería.
Frente a la pregunta de "que hacer" en un mundo prestado, que no nos pertenece ni se identifica con nuestras raíces costumbristas, la respuesta brotó por si sola; sacar a la luz lo más amado de las formas musicales de nuestra tierra de origen, incorporando las diversas influencias de los países que nos rodean, incluyendo el jazz, el rock, y el blues que no tienen frontera alguna. La propuesta de Los Chamanes, inspirándose en los curanderos tradicionales de las tribus del mundo, es ofrecer nuestra música como una sanación para el alma.
CONJUROS, nuestro primer álbum, es la cura que nace del espíritu de amistad del grupo, y de la nostalgia por nuestras cultura y la Cordillera de Los Andes.
LOS CHAMANES han venido realizando diversas presentaciones en New Jersey, el Bronx, Queens, como así actividades de beneficencia para “Esperanza”, fundación destinada al financiamiento escolar de niños de escasos recursos en Chile.

With its roots in the Andes Cordillera, Conjuros blends jazz and blues into South American folklore. Los Chamanes are rendering powerful, funky, soulful interpretations of compositions by the greatest authors of Chile and Argentina, such as Victor Jara, Violeta Parra, Congreso y Peteco Carabajal, as well as the prose of their own member and composer, Ricardo Cuevas. They seem to have found the exact place where people from all walks of life and ages meet and share: poetry in all its forms. They tell of the earth and its inhabitants, of deep and simple things, with nostalgia and joy. There is not a meaningless song there, even the instrumentals speak.
Think Silvio Rodriguez meets Lila Downs meets Inti-Illimani meets Congreso. But there is no doubt that Los Chamanes are who you meet here.
A few years into the new millennium the story of six intuitive and spontaneous musicians, all from Chile, each with their artistic background, started weaving itself in New York City. The instruments range from indigenous ones such as the charango, the cuatro, the quena, the bombo, the kultrun, to classical and contemporary instruments such as the electric bass, the saxophone, the piano and the drums.
Facing the issue of what to do in a borrowed world, that does not relate to us or identify with our traditional roots, the answer flowed by itself; bring to the light what we love most of the various influences of our land of origin and the countries that surround it, including jazz, rock and blues which don't have any frontiers. Inspired by the traditional healers of the world's tribes, Los Chamanes offer their music as remedy for the soul. Conjuros, their first album, is the cure that was born form the spirit of friendship of the band, and a nostalgia for the Andes.
LOS CHAMANES have had various performances in the New York area in New Jersey, the Bronx, Queens, and as well volunteer activities for the benefit of "Esperanza", a foundation that finances school for children without resources in Chile.
