Saxophonist David Greenberg started playing the alto saxophone at age ten. At fourteen, he began studying with accomplished musician, Dave Lecompte who was a former student of Dennis Sandole (mentor of John Coltrane in Trane’s early years). During his later teens, David played first alto in a big band while winning various soloist awards at Jazz Festivals, most notably at the Berkeley Jazz Festival in Boston. In the summer of 2003, David toured with AMA, performing in such countries as Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and Germany. He is now attending Rutgers University pursuing both Psychology and Music. David has studied with the likes of Ralph Bowen, Larry Mckenna and Joel Frahm. He has also been coached by Victor Lewis in his small ensembles. David is playing in various ensembles with Rutgers University and can be seen playing in the North Jersey and New York area.
