Pledge to Drive Safe!

I designed this myspace to raise a much needed awareness on safe driving. Anyone who has lost someone they love to a fatal car accident or has been touched by one knows the importance of driving as safely and cautious as possible. There are alot of things we do when we are driving that distract us from keeping our full focus on the road and driving. Factors such as cell phones, text messaging, navigational systems, computers, and even children can distract us from driving. Other things like drinking and driving and driving while drowsy play a huge factor in our ability to judge, think clearly and make rational decisions. Even glancing away from the road for a split second can end your life or someone elses. We need to make a huge effort in improving our driving skills. This needs to start before we ever get our licenses. There need to be more strick laws, punishments, and fines for people who are driving recklessly, speeding dangerously, and of course drinking and driving. There were over a million accidents alone in the United States last year, almost 50 thousand of those were fatal. Many people seem to think that it is a race to get to their next location, but it is not a race, it is your life! I am guilty of every single poor driving offense. But I am making a pledge to be more safe and cautious behind the wheel and I hope that many of you will do the same as well. If you don't do it for youself, do it for someone you love.
