There seems to be a very intense focus on just pushing product onto the radio or TV and into the marketplace, regardless of the apparent lack of quality… even more so than normal. And with that attitude as a cultural backdrop, it’s only natural that a large segment of the population will rebel, seeking a more detailed, hopeful and soulful soundtrack.â€Although he knows no limits and can produce many genres of music, Mr. Rigz has recently developed a niche producing for not only content-minded rappers and singers, but also spoken word artists looking to put together records that do more for the listener that the average a capella-only poetry CD. He has produced for poets such as Asia, Poetic Vibez, Lady Angelique, and Renda Writer, as well as lyricists like Phillip Morris, Gilead 7, DRS, Twist and Lyric Versatile. His cinematic credits include a feature as a producer and contributor to the score of an independent documentary about Chicago hip-hop artists entitled “Rooftop Hip Hop.â€Mr. Rigz sites producers RZA (Wu-Tang Clan, Kill Bill), Andy Wallace (Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana), Terry Date (Pantera, Soundgarden, Staind) and Hi-Tek (Talib Kweli, Black Star), as his biggest influences. Mr. Rigz also acknowledges a strong appreciation for the work of Dr. Dre, Rick Rubin, Salaam Remi, Timbaland and Andy Johns, among many others.Altruistic at heart, Mr. Rigz has goals for the future that include not only his own success, but also the success and growth of the artists around him.
