Last summer, my husband and I traveled to Charlotte, NC, to visit our friend Steve Stoeckel and his wife Linda. Steve very graciously--and patiently!--helped me to buy my first guitar (does that imply that there's a second guitar in my future????) Steve wrote and recorded a beautiful song about my guitar; the song is titled Jules' Guitar--Jules is my nickname.
Steve, and the rest of the Spongetones and their wives, are the nicest people in the world. Pat Walters (a luthier) took good care of my guitar (a Taylor 410), getting it set up just right for me. And Steve, Jamie, and Pat all took turns playing her. Her name is Charlotte, in honor of the great friends we have down in Charlotte, NC. Below is a photo of Charlotte, and a photo of the boys having fun with her. (We also heard the boys play at the Double Door Inn on May 2 and Festival in the Park on September 20. Photos in the photo section). The Spongetones rock and rule. Long may they run...
This is Charlotte...ain't she a beauty?
This is Steve with Charlotte at Pat's house in his shop. Note the smile on Steve's face. Ain't he a doll?:)
This is Pat, in his shop. Uncle Pat took very good care of Charlotte for me...a very sweet guy!
This is Jambi (Jamie), playing Charlotte at Steve's house after dinner. The boys were kind enough to sing to me. And Charlotte loved all of the attention. :)
Am I a Spongetones fan, or what? A wee bit obsessed...
