S EN was formed in Taipei in 2002, started with four young boys. They dreamed about becoming a band since they saw a video tape in which Thurston Moore violently played his guitar. LUBYLONG (lead singer/guitarist) and OLI (bassist) were friends since they were 10, and when they became junior high student they got interested with western pop/rock music. When Lubylong went to high school, he met ALI (drummer/loop) who was his classmate. That time Lubylong bought a electric guitar and started to play. Ali also bought one, but it was stolen on the next day, so he had but to buy a pair of drumsticks, and then Oli naturally bought a bass guitar. A year after, BILL , who was Ali’s close friend, joined them. They began to cover some songs of Sonic Youth and Oasis in their high school rock club festival. The name of the band was “Tell the Paris Moo.â€After they graduated from senior high the band was disbanded for a while. Not before long Luby invited Oli and Bill to form a band called “The Minimal LOB†in which they stared to write songs without a drummer. A year after they asked Ali to come back to write their songs and named their band “SEN“ (Chinese fairies music parade ). But after a year Bill left the band, and a metal/post rock player Da Shan joined them. They played for about two years, and Sam left the band. So they asked Bill to rejoin the band.
    The most important music influences for SEN are early Sonic Youth, Bauhaus, and joy division. The 80’s new wave ã€post punk bands and old psychedelic rock music also are their true love.
