MellotronGirl! Is Currently Campaigning To Introduce Vowels To Balkan Nations
First of all--Tan-Dem is two people...and this myspace site for now is the Jenny side of things...as Jeremy develops his website...his fave bands, projects and influences will come to light for all of us to see. The name Tan-Dem is his idea; we are two-thirds of an experimental project once known as They Made Me Do It. They Made Me Do It did a handful of live music shows in La Grande in 2001 through 2004 and was the brianchild of local projectionist and videographer Derek Wildstar. Tan-Dem's rehearsals are the result of connective spontaneous wavelengths, known usually as "crush" sessions when we get our gear together under one roof (usually Jeremy's studio or the studio of the university radio station) and cut loose with whatever groove we can capitalise on. And occaisionally a few of our friends will drop by, and we'll coax them into plugging themselves in.
DJ Suspension Has Been Known To Order Pancakes With Beer At Denny's
Tan_Dem appreciates music of all classifications that inhibits thought processes...be it ambient or kinetic. As long as we know it's done with brave conviction and is from the deep soul of expressive thought. We like all three bands named Ragnarok, and all three bands named Cathedral, and all three bands named Kaleidoscope, and both bands named Genesis, Family, Zeitgeist, Cranes, Isis, Dada, Kingdom Come, Utopia, and on and on. And of course all the bands whose name is all their own...like Opeth, Hawkwind, Tripsichord Music Box and Premiata Forneria Marconi.Tan_Dem Has Seriously Considered Performing In The Recycle Room At Wal*Mart
Jeremy likes Kate Bush, Anonymous Bosch, Tori Amos...Jenny likes Fantomas, Semiramis, Amon Duul 2...Jeremy is the whiz at studio production, digital engineering and mixing it all into a cohesive finished product...right down to the artwork and the conections with outside sources to make it all happen. Jeremy has released a handful of CD's as DJ Suspension over the past few years.Jenny just likes to bang around on old vintage keyboards and is totally content with loads of volume, feedback, fuzz, and distortion.Jenny and Jeremy are both DJ's and are fearless and misunderstood as to why they (we) don't play all the shit that makes the Billboard Top 40 charts and all the mainstream radio crap whose music can be found at Wal*Mart. We're onto the other 99% of the music that's out there, so there ya go.They say criticism incites an artist to grow, but we must be doing okay, because no one confronts us about it. Hmm...maybe then people don't say anything because nothing has gone wrong. Ask why, and we will say why not.As I mentioned, this site for now is the Jenny side o'things:Her influences/hobbies beyond Tan-Dem are:Aircraft design, livery, safety Longboards Art deco architecture Skylines/Skyscrapers Nightclubs/nightlife/socialising Gardening Meteorology Volcanology Live Entertainment Localised/Timely Comedy Writing Electric Vehicle Conversions Vintage Keyboards Obscure Records-Kitsch/Novelty/Prog/Psyche/Techno/IndieMetal/Punk Bakelite Radios Inuit/Nunavut Culture/History Getting Outside On A Nice DayTan_Dem Joins Self-Proclaimed Sammyville Mayor To Shoot Down Any Meteors Over Union County
