Nearest Nova

When like-minded people bring their talents together to create something original, a greater than the sum of its parts thing occurs. None of this was any one of the eight members' idea, however, it evolved into a musical production force creating hip hop simply for the love of the art.
The founding fathers of Nearest Nova are from Broad Ripple and have stayed (for the most part) around Indiana. Nearest Nova formed officially in the summer of 2004 when the group changed its name from Phonetix and added new members. The musical history together extends well beyond that point though. It all began in high school with beat-making and dj'ing. Friends began freestyling, writing, and recording. House parties, shows, and radio appearances followed. The crew has certainly developed respect and a dedicated fan base around Indiana and continues to play shows and record music.
Nearest Nova has currently released a promo album entitled Still Life with Gunnife to build anticipation for various solo projects to be released in 2008 (including Roman E. Gripp 's deput LP 'DIAMOND OXEN'). Also released under the Nearest Nova imprint is the instrumental death threat duo, Nektah Neck .
