NYDM BANDS AT THE ANNUAL. APOCRYPH
NYDM BANDS AT THE ANNUAL. APOCRYPH
Apocryph is metal! The music trancends all genres and labels. Formed in the winter of 2001 by Patrick Foote & Jason Johnson, Apocryph has been slow to come together as the two guitarists refused to take trend hoppers into the fold, instead waiting for true dedicated and like minded musicians. The result is music that is completly devoid of all non-metal molestations. With influences ranging from Fleshtized, the almighty Iron Maiden, to Hypocrisy and Slayer, Apocryph has refused any confines to how they're music is played. The band recruited Adam Franklin on drums and Garth Lovvorn on bass in 2003 and began rehearsals to start playing live. The band finally gelled and a series of shows from Birmingham to Nashville insued during December of 2003 and January of 2004 with bands such as Convergence From Within and Blood Staind Dusk. After a long hiatus Apocryph began playing shows in Birmingham and Huntsville again in December 2005. Personal conflicts within the band led to the departure of Adam. The band added Profana to the drum throne in early 2006. The addition of Profana revitalized the music and improved the older material.Ryan McBride joined Apocryph as bassist in 2006 but left in the fall of 2007 due to personal reasons. He was replaced by our new brother Jeremy who has surpassed all our expectations in Febuary 2008.
Apocryph is maturing more everytime we play and we are exploring the might that lays within our respective talents. We will always put forth quality metal and never bend to what the masses expect from us.
