♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪ ♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪ ♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪ My name is Liz Scott and I am the coordinator of the official Sam Phillips Commemorative U.S. Postage Stamp Campaign. In 2005 I spearheaded the efforts to establish the annual Sam Phillips Music Celebration in Florence Since the fall of 2005, I have been working very hard and passionately for the past 3 years to get the ultimate honor for a notable and well deserving man such as Sam. I am all volunteer 12 months out of the year 7 days a week working on this campaign. Yes, it gets exhausting and I have to have a physical and mental break, but it is all worth while and I am honored to be blessed with talent, personality, determination, passion and self-taught knowledge to do this. When I say I am going to do something, it happens!♪♪ I thank Sam's family for their friendship and their blessing to do this for their loved one! I also thank Linda Brown, my assistant and former Dist. 6 Florence City Councilwoman Angie Pickens for their dedication, time and effort that they have put into the Campaign. The next step in the process is for YOU the fans to speak up and let your support be known to YOUR US Congressman or Congresswoman. I will continue to be my guy's cheerleader (LOL) to keep the excitement going and I will do everything I can to keep the media on this. Thank you for your support and in the words of Elvis, "Thank ya Thank ya Very Much!"♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪ ♪♪ I am so proud to be a native of the beautiful Northwest Alabama area called The Shoals (the towns included are Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield & Tuscumbia), because of my roots planted deeply here, the people, the Southern hospitality and culture, and also the exciting and instrumental roles the area has played throughout American, Music and World History. I am especially proud of our rich musical heritage here. ♪♪ I totally agree with Sam Phillips when he often commented about this area; "Florence and this Tennessee River are the 2 most beautiful places here on this earth!" He loved the River because of its strong musical influences and his daddy made a living because of that huge body of water. Florence is the Birthplace of not only the Father of Rock n' Roll--Sam Phillips, but of the Father of the Blues--W.C. Handy and Nashville's music mogul, Buddy Killen! Make your plans to come on down here and see for yourself why The Shoals is the most beautiful place to be!

People have tried to tire me out, discourage me and hurt me so I quit., but not Liz!! Honesty, sincerity, selflessness, duty, integrity, courage..things that are lacking in todays society.
