About Me
Mc Mirage started mc'ing in 1993 after being inspired by good friend Mc Fearless. He used to practice all the time in the bedroom constantly creating a flow and he's own unique style.
Some of he's friends were on a pirate radio station called Defection as Dj's so he would go to the radio with them, not to mc but to get a vibe and a feel for the music and be inspired some more. Mirage would jam with he's pals and do tapes in the bedroom, he's pals dj'ing and Mirage practicing he's style through the microphone. In 1995 he got he's 1st break onto radio which was Elite fm, he was on here for a few years putting in the practice hours and improving he's stlye and technique before moving onto Vision fm and Chronic fm. By this time Mc Mirage had played at a few local events alongside artists such as Mc Rage and Dj Special K and this proved to be a turning point in Mirage's mc'ing career.
1997 was another turning point when Mc Mirage joined Cyndicut 97.8fm with Dj Lapella. It was a good combination of styles and Mirage was always recognised due to he's unique style and distinctive voice.
Mc Mirage had developed a style of sharp firing lyrics that were clear and about appropriate things, he compliments the dj all the time and makes you aware of whats going on i.e 'in slides the mixer right all cru listen' 'mc working with the dj, dj working with the mc, no confusion' Mirage quotes, Mirage also started to mc for Dj Quick on Cyndicut.
After being on Cyndicut for a while he joined another radio station Ruud Awakening 104.3fm where he continued to partner Dj Quick. Mirage found this to be the biggest move and by this time was very comfortable with he's style and would always get good feedback about he's lyrics and technique. In 1999 MC Mirage got he's 1st international booking where he played in Los Angeles USA where it is reported he tore it up. Mirage has played their several times and was even more fortunate to be booked in Toronto Canada where he played at Empire events for Dj Ruckus and also AWOL, Mirage has had the opportunity to play in Canada several times too.
MC Mirage was on Ruud Awakening for 8 years where he partnered Dj Darkone b2b Dj Fury for most of it (6 years apprx) up untill when the station came to an unfortunate end. Mirage played at a vast number of events over the coming years i.e Pure Science, Dance Concept, One Nation, United Dance, Ruud Nation to name a few and in countries such as Germany,Amsterdam, USA and Canada. Mirage took some time out for a couple of years to focus on he's kids and being a good dad plus concentrate on some other projects, 'but you cant hold a good man down for too long'.
Now Mc Mirage continues to mc and makes appearances on Cyndicut 97.8fm with Dj Darkone (Sir Darkone Deadly) and the infamous Dj Quick (South London Supreme Team). Mirage loves he's drum 'n' bass always has and always will and has been working on some serious material, lyrically and musically so keep your ears open for both.
