Welcome to Iowa State! I am now settling into the dorm life at Iowa state. The campus is beautiful, and no....it's not ALL cornfields even though there is a lot of them! It's hard to be away from all my friends back home, but it feels good to be moving on and having a plan. I am planning on going for architecture, I have to apply at the end of this year. Everybody is telling me all of the horror stories of the 1st year design students but I have confidence and am going to give it my all.

I play Volleyball, hey you can't knock it until you've played. I love cars, especially ones i'll never be able to afford. I love the mountains, that's why I love going out west, it's so pretty.I traveled to South America this summer.....and it was awesome! You can't put a price on traveling and experience. I know enough spanish to get by, and as soon as you are surrounded by a language it's amazing how fast it all comes back. It wouldn't take long to become fluent. I traveled through Ecuador and Colombia and lived with the people. I also consumed some guinea pig along the way :P And of course the coffee in Colombia is really good :) I really love it down there, I definintly want to go back. It's a beautiful region. I can't say thanks enough to all the people that took care of me while i was down there, David Lansdale, Leroy Lerwick, Alicio, Derek Johnson, and all the people I stayed w/ while I was down there.I hate when people talk on their cell phones while driving(even though I'm guilty...and i drive a manual). Another pet peeve is when people make judgements about other people without knowing them.I am usually very outgoing, but can be shy when i'm w/ a group of people i don't really know,but that doesn't last long. I have confidence in myself but I can be shy when it comes to the female species ;) It can be hard for me to express my feelings for someone. One of the craziest things i've done is jumping in lake Michigan on January 1st (i've actually done the Polar Bear Plunge 4 years in a row). I love being happy and upbeat. I have very few major highs and lows, I am pretty "even-keeled". I also know that I am very easy to 'read' so if I am unhappy about something, everybody can tell. I hate seeing other people upset and do what I can to help. I also try to stay on the good side of everybody. then again if people don't like me....i'm not gonna change for them. I'm also a procrastinator but I'm working on changing that now that i'm in college......I hardly get time to procrasinate! I get stuff done when it's gotta be done, but I rarely worry about stuff. there are very few things worth worrying about, most things that people worry about....they can't change. don't worry too much about things that are GOING to happen, take them as they come. Everything will eventually work itself out.
