Quickness formed in Vancouver in 2008 when Ray Garraway and Jacob Dryden met in a rehearsal spot in downtown Vancouver. Their love of hip hop, punk rock and dub was the genesis of the band. Jacob and Ray hunted for a bass player who would match their musical vision, shortly after, David Marion joined on bass. Fast forward a year and a half, the boys are completing their first album, have done quite a few shows around BC, made some live lo-fi youtube videos and have been building their success brick by brick. When asked about the writing and performing process, jacob says ''We try to communicate the emotion and energy of the song and make our songs easy to digest, but still have layers and subtleties that you can discover over time. As far as live shows, I love the people dancing and getting crazy on the floor when we play, it’s a call answer thing, people respond to us, and we respond to them from the stage, that keeps it fresh for us.''
