About Me

I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, renaissance man, dabbler, whatever you want to call it. Son of artists, I stuck my own path out into the sciences at a young age, eventually deciding on physics. Did an undergrad degree in astrophysics, but decided it wasn't for me. Went off to Korea for two years to teach English, got interested in writing fiction. Upon return to Canada, quickly realised that although my short stories were okay, I was not going to be able to make a living as a writer. Started taking journalism classes, but switched into graphic design because that was more interesting. Finally realising that I could fight genetic destiny no longer, I took a couple of drawing classes to complement my newfound design skills and took to thinking of myself as an "artist," whatever that means. The latest evolutionary leap I've taken is to quit my job as a graphic designer to pursue my long-time dream of making board games for a living. It's too soon to tell whether I'll be able to make any money at it, but it's definitely been good for my mental and spiritual health.
