I am awesome! And so are you.
Me me: I am largely uncharted territory. I love writing, reading, playing the guitar, listening to live music, hiking, and hanging out with friends. I don't do enough of any of those things. I love Kauai and the Dave Matthews Band. I believe most people are brilliant, but they don't realize it. Too often, I put people on pedestals only to have them fall on me. I have a Persephone complex. I often feel shy. I write poetry, but I'm not sure it's very good. I am a rape survivor. My greatest fear is that I will disappoint my father. I believe that the universe is working to bring us exactly what we want and need, but we are limited by our thoughts, especially the fearful ones. I believe I'm beautiful, but usually I don't act like it. My favorite philsophers are Kurt Vonnegut, Mark Twain, Dave Matthews , Bill Watterson, and Fred LeBlanc .
Home me: I am married with three boys: one in college, one in high school, and one in diapers. I am in love with my husband, Dave. Dave is a tax attorney, but his true calling is as a record producer. His first album, a compilation of songs from his portfolio site, discovergirls.com , is out now! The project is called 'Catalyst 18,' and proceeds benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Visit the album site and buy buy buy!
Dave has a huge heart, loves his kids more than his own life, and is a cancer survivor. He is also an amazing athlete. The boys call him "Pops the Cyclops." His best friend in law school was Bill Nyrop of the Montreal Canadiens. The stories are legendary.
My boys are equally amazing. Danny is a senior at Franklin & Marshall and seems to be having a blast, given how infrequently he calls. He excels at everything he does, including basketball, music, and his coursework. He loves math and science. He is also wonderfully sensitive and has an uncanny ability to know what other people are feeling. He has a girlfriend he won't tell me anything about.
Max is a senior at Washington International School. He is definitely the big man on campus - everyone admires and respects him. He has an amazing sense of humor, and also a calmness and sincerity that commands respect and love. He has his father's spirit. He plays the saxophone and drums, soccer and basketball, and gets awesome grades. Max speaks Chinese. He has his driver's license, but he hasn't run over anyone yet! He recently went to a dance with a girl he won't tell me anything about.
Samson is already over one year old and is running everywhere and getting into everything. He has a dozen words, plus a dozen more in Spanish that I can't identify. He loves his ducky and is an accomplished dancer. He recently uttered his first sentence which, fittingly, was "I want my ba-ba."
I have one sister, Katherine. We are the same, but totally different. She is beautiful, gutsy and brilliant. She is true to herself. Katherine and I are telepathic.
I have a whole lot of really wonderful friends, and I don't give them enough credit. I'm grateful for every one of them, especially Matt, Andrew, Elaine, Molly, David, Michael and Jim.
