About Me

Singer-songwriter, performance poet, stand-up artist, Coley has been performing in cabaret pop show bands for twenty odd years (and a couple that weren't quite so odd). He performs regularly to bemused audiences at open-mic nights, on street corners and in the bath. He also runs poetry, circus and other workshops and performs walkabout theatre. In 1994 he discovered the process of multi-track recording, which proved handy as noone else wanted to play with him. He recorded a number of dodgy albums onto tape before discovering that he can record equally dodgy albums onto cd. Thus far :Alpha - mail 1 & 2 (a freeform writing collaboration with The Intolerable Mr.Driff, on work time).THe Magnificent Victorian Trouser Press Conference (largely a freeform writing experiment on a different works time plus some songs that were knocking about on 4-track tapes). This album featured over a number of weeks, on Resonance F.M.'s rather splendid Cyber Chutney Arse Duck Show.Stuck Truck (recorded over two months in a horsebox - not continually)Living with Shame (largely songs that have been written and recorded within two hours).Representing My Country in the Mum and Dad's Egg and Spoon Race (a bit of a mish mash of more left-overs with some poems in-betwen)Whilst Coley records with various and numerous tools, when performing live he is most likely to be clutching his beloved Uke which takes the lead in most songs of the past two years. As a regular open mic performer, Coley has been offered gigs into which he has coerced life-long suffering friends to join him on a number of stages. He has performed at Glastonbury Festival, at an Opportunity Knocks audition, and on stage with Noel Fielding (twice don't y'know) and Julian Barrett, all legitimately! Coley is available singularly as a warning to others or dually in his latest 80's pop phenomenon (with Biro) probably called "Zammo!" What people have said about Coley: "You are Amazing" Barmaid at The Vestry "Don't you care what people think?" John (a student for whom I have some responsibility) "What are you doing in my bin?" Woman at the co-op "Daddy" Finn "D.I.Y.tastic - I want to hear more of that" BBC radio Bristol Introducing. Coley demonstrates the dangers of mixing drugs with balloon modelling.
