DJs are pay for play, no matter if your music is good or bad. Record Companies aren’t signing any new artists and are barely pushing the artists they do have .. But this isn’t anything new in the past 3 years. One of Hip-Hop’s biggest Labels, (Def Jam), fell apart and a lot of artists and Hip-Hop legend’s careers took a downfall.....artists such as household names like LL cool J and Redman. who helped build Def Jam in it’s early days. Blame it on downloads (Kazaa/ Limewire), etc....Ha ha yea right, I’m just talking New York right….But worldwide, CD sales have slowed down greatly. And all majors are stuck with their heads between their legs..... In New York City, we, being Indie Artists who live off of our music took matters into our own hands and took it to the streets (if these companies can’t sell our records or your records we figure we’ll do it ourselves). 2003 -2008 and still going strong, Time Square Hustlers has flooded NYC with thousands, maybe millions of CDs and DVDs, reaching fans all over the world and the United States. Being that we are in Time Square, the place where tourists are most likely to visit first, or before they leave NYC, our CDs, posters, etc. reach all over the world. Now that were making money and impact with our impressive CD sales and strategy, dealing first-hand with the consumer, we are able to generate worldwide fan bases without the help of major record companies.... We pay sales tax and have an NYC vendor’s license to sell legally in the state. But uncle Sam still insists on sending NY’s finest to shut us down . We work hard and spend a lot of time and money recording and shooting our own videos and we are what real Hip-Hop is about . So do us a favor and call the mayor, call the NYC court system or matter of fact call the Time Square Community Affairs, or just e-mail them and support the movement so maybe we can get YOUR music and CDs on the strip. It’s for everybody and next time this can be you... I mean look at me...I don’t work, I live off of my CDs and New York’s Finest is trying to shut me down. And if they shut me down then they shut us all down.... Spread the word!!! We need everybody’s support, if you wanna help or get involved, please contact me ASAP . There is a Time Square everywhere. If you wanna support, come to NYC Time Square area with your CDs, you are guaranteed to make money--TRUST me I make at the least $250-$300 a day, selling my CDs at $5 or $10 apiece. The strip is for everyone--you can make a living, pay bills, and pursue your dreams and still be independent . Just because you’re not on a Major Label doesn’t meant that you can’t be in The Game.
