Secret Agent T

About Me

The original Secret Agent T was formed four years ago by Andrew Hassler (bass) and Joseph Gearheart (guitar/vocals). Originally inspired by the minimalist rock movement, the original Secret Agent T set out with the goal of pushing the boundaries of what a two-person band could accomplish. After several shows and a short EP titled "Fill The Bucket", the duo took a hiatus for several months, during which Andrew and Joseph busied themselves studying at their respective schools. During this hiatus Joseph was lucky enough to stumble upon drummer David Hopkins, completing the line-up and prompting a reformation as a power trio.
We play a mixture of so-called "alternative" rock, hard rock, grunge and blues. There are no gimmicks, no focus on an image or anything that would distract someone from our music. We are rock, plain and simple.
David, a music ed. major, and Joseph, a music business major, both attend Radford University, while Andrew is a recent graduate of Bridgewater College, with his degree in music composition.
We are currently in the process of bringing the members of the band closer together, geographically speaking, to better facilitate output in the form of live shows and recorded works. Our debut effort, "Social Mold", a tour de force of rock guaranteed to destroy your ears with a tsunami of musical bliss, should be made available in short order.

Influences:

All of us have been influenced and inspired by a wide range of musicians and styles. Joseph cites groups like Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr., the Melvins and Pavement as his main influences. David turns to drum greats such as Cozy Powell, Carmine Appice, Neil Peart and Ginger Baker, as well as bands like Rush and Cream, for influence. Andrew's main influences are Radiohead, The Beatles, The Who, King Crimson and Pixies. While not all of these influences are heard in the music of SAT, they have all played a key role in developing the tastes and musicianship of its members.
