snowboarding, going to shows, traveling, getting lost(while traveling), getting tattoos, getting pierced, writing, sleeping, playing poker, jumping off bridges, and doing the stupid things society tells me I must to be cool. I'm working on quitting that last one.
I don't care about meeting movie stars, stupid shit like that is pointless. People I can hang out with, someone you can look at and they know exactly what your thinking. Just cool people in general. If you say you think I'm cool and you want to hang out, then just use me to add another friend to you list, that's not kosher. Seriously. If you are one of those people, don't ask me to be friends, I'll figure it out in about a week and delete you anyways.
Death Cab for Cutie, Postal Service, Wilco, The Shins, Weezer, Bright Eyes, Modest Mouse, Muse, Simon and Garfunkel, The White Stripes, Cursive, The Hives, Iron and Wine, The Vines, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Emery, Darkest Hour, Atreyu, Phantom Planet, Dashboard Confessional, American Football, The Bravery, The Mars Volta, OK Go, Jack Johnson, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Decemberists, Spoon, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Pedro the Lion, Coldplay, Cursive, Damien Rice, The Fratellis, The Faint, Interpol, Sufjan Stevens(rocks!), and Depeche Mode.
Lately I have been watching a lot of Horror, Indie flicks, and some good ole Chinese Kung Foo. I love to watch Memento, Secretary, Donnie Darko, Closer, Rules of Attraction, Clockwork Orange, City of God, Eternal Sunshine, Roger Dodger, Primer, Pie, and Thank You for Smoking to name just a few. Don't be scared if you haven't heard of any of this stuff, it wont bother me.
I don't watch TV anymore, I watched enough of it as a kid to last me the rest of my life. I would much rather get into a good book.
I'll be honest; I was a pretty nerdy kid. You know that kid from The Neverending Story, that was me. Looked just like him too. So my life revolved around books, something to forget about how much school sucked or whatever else I didn't know how to deal with. I love to write, journal, and read anything that I can get my hands on. I always change what I read. Variety is the spice of life, right? Kurt Vonnegut, Chuck Palahniuk, George Orwell, Ray Bradbury, Anthony Burgess, Ernest Hemingway, Jhonen Vasquez, Douglas Adams, John Steinbeck, William Faulkner, Joseph Heller, Aldous Huxley, Voltaire, Jose Saramago, and Alan Moore, it doesn't matter. It's all good, I promise.
My hero would have to be my grandfather. He's done so much with his life, it is truly amazing. He raised six children with the help of my grandmother, and did a pretty good job of it too, even if my mom is a little weird. I got my honesty and my weird, sarcastic sense of humor from him. Growing up, he was in the US Navy. After the Navy he became a Chemistry teacher, and got his black belts in Karate and Judo. After a while, he changed jobs to be a cop. Saved a bunch of lives, he did all kinds of good stuff. If I am half the man he is then I know I've done well.
