Bre Shelby is presently a Violist in her high school Chamber Orchestra. She is also an All-District Orchestra member for 2 years. Bre’s Choir and Advanced Orchestra won their categories in the Chicago Music Festival in 2005 and were invited to sing in Rome, Italy for Pope Benedict at St. Peter’s Basilica in 2006. This was truly the trip of her life time. Bre Shelby was the first of two people, out of Kentucky, to be selected to sing in the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California. She was 1 of 100 students to be given this honor to sing with the Oakridge Boys in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the National Anthem. Then Miss Bre Shelby sang her heart out at the “Rockin’ the Docks†Fourth of July celebration in Lenoir City, TN for 20,000 people. Bre Shelby was selected, through audition, to be the fiddle player for the band “Pure Country†in KY. In February Bre took her first trip to Nashville to get her viola and violin amplified at William’s Fine Violins. While waiting she went down to Broadway in down town Nashville to check out the music scene. Bre went into Tootsies Orchid Lounge and was invited to play her fiddle. After playing 2 to 3 bluegrass tunes they asked her if she would like to sing. Bre borrowed a guitar and sang “Tim McGraw†by Taylor Swift and “Bubbly†by Colbie Caillat. After she got off stage the band and management invited her to perform at their open mic on Saturday night. Bre parlayed this into a summer gig performing with Jimmy Schneider on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 to 2. Upon going to Ohana Music Group, owned by Kirk Willie (the sound and production man for John Michael Montgomery), she record her originals. After working with Kirk, Kirk called Darren Warren and suggested that Bre play fiddle for him the opening night at the Grand Opening of the bar, Pure Country in Paducah, KY. Bre has also been a regular performer at the Four Rivers Harley-Davidson Dealership in Paducah on their promotional weekends. After performing for Nashville songwriters at Tyler Dickerson’s signing party, Bre was invited by Tommy Barnes to join him at Kenny Royster Productions, a recording studio in Nashville, to watch the recording of this brilliant songwriter’s original. She started recording with him and continued recording with him for a month! Bre has done so many great things and met some great people such as Tommy Barns, Jerry Foster, Jimmy Dickens, Brian Fischer and MANY more!
