BiographyBorn in South Africa, in a little town called Ladysmith, Vishaun Kistan has come a long way. Immigrating to Canada in 1996 at the of age fifteen, it took him a few years to find his niche in life. Having graduated from college in 2000 with a Millwright certificate he decided it was time to work towards his future. However; after three unfulfilling years of working as a welder, fabricator, mechanic, painter, telemarketer and janitor Vishaun realized that this work was not for him and decided to start following his heart. In 2003, Vishaun began to write his music and it’s been a roller coaster ride since. To his surprise the songs had a strong melodic as well as lyrical structure and with his mother’s support he was encouraged to produce them. With very little vocal confidence but a strong determination he began producing in 2004. Over the next three years he honed in on his vocals and now jokingly admits it was a painful process, but it has all been worth while.Influenced by bands such as The Eagles, BeeGees, Bad Company, Simon and Garfunkel and artists like Michael Jackson, Sting, Lionel Richie, Phil Collins and Santana, Vishaun has been able to blend a bit of old school with some new school and bound with a touch of spice. The release of his debut album speaks much of his journey through life and is told through his music. Songs such as, "A Place Called Home", "A Better Day", and "Miles Apart" give you a little insight into the world of this artist and his fittingly titled album, "Welcome to my World", does just as it implies.
