About Me

NTL
Neal Walter – Guitar and Vocals
Christina King - Electric Violin, Synthesizer
Bill Ritchen – Basses, Synthesizer
Ray Froehlich – Drums and Percussion
Finally emerging on the scene is a sophisticated power rock quartet – NTL - with no pretense of fitting a mold. BILL RITCHEN on basses and RAY FROEHLICH on drums and CHRISTINA KING on electric violin, all SF Symphony players with serious rock club credentials, are joined by prodigy NEAL WALTER on guitar and vocals whose rock infused playing amazed blues veteran bluesman Paul Butterfield and Bobby Vega of Tower of Power when Neal played with them.
NTL plays with ‘Nothing To Lose” and a break the rules attitude, taking a hard rock approach on top of jazz fusion influences for an ‘in your face’ sound. Muscular bass lines steer the way under Eddie Van Halen style guitar riffs, angelic violin playing and drumming that soars and drives way beyond ‘fills.’
"....metal tinged jazz-rock fusion that worked really well..." "My first impression of NTL was pretty good and I would go see them at another venue given the opportunity" -SF Examiner
Walt Weiskopf, Steeley Dan saxophonist, notes, “They’re hot - and Bill Ritchen is certainly one of the most natural bassists I have ever had the pleasure of working with.” Bevan Manson, jazz pianist, film composer, and former Director of Jazz Studies at UC Berkeley, endorses the group as “innovative, terrific, and musically fresh.”
We promise that you will too!
