Hailing from the wasteland of smalltown America, Ruination emerges as the next generation of Audio Terrorism destined to infect your ears, mind and soul. Influenced by bands like; Machine Head, GlassJaw, Helmet, Biohazard, Slipknot, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon and many others, the band takes old school metal and new school mentality and merges them into one lethal dose of sonic insanity.
Their debut CD. .."Songs in the Ki Of Blow.." (2004) has to date sold a surprising amount of copies and the band has endured the past three years playing over 200 shows in their regional area as well as select dates along the east coast opening for national acts such as; Brand New Sin, Dog Fashion Disco, Clutch, Seemless, Overkill, 36 Crazyfists, Ankla and many more. Along the way RUINATION has certainly gained a respect from their peers, and are know to pack a house when they have homefield advantage.
Fueled by hatred for all things this 5 piece band lives by the riff and the rhythm section and does not rely on flashy technique or overplayed parts... they simply lay the groove down, thick heavy grooves with the bite of a fuel injected pit bull. The vocals, courtesy of erratic front-man Morgus, borderline on the extreme, with elements of serene melodies, and powered by explosive styles similar of Corey Taylor from Slipknot with a touch of Maynard from Tool. The rhythm section, held down by blast beat drummer Jay R, and technically skilled bassist Tommy V. is the concrete block of the foundation, while the layers of in your face guitar riffs hammered out by Dios and founding member Dwr3k bring the demon to life. the entire creation is scary... and takes some getting used to.
In the process of writing new material, along with re-emerging in the local and regional scene after a short hiatus, the band brings a new found energy to their performance, and have already began their hostile take over with every town, city, venue and backseat they infect.
The band has just finished recording their sophomore effort .."Symphonies of the Slit Wrists Vol I.." with renown producer and Full Sail graduate Smath at Ultimate Studios in upstate NY. Their first full length CD since the formation of the project, RUINATION made sure that they seperated the difference of a demo and an actual CD, and added all the bells and whistles you would find on a professionally produced album. The end product, while still in the process of being finished, is absolutely incredible!!! The record has yet to be released, with a launch date set for sometime in March 2008.
The band has just recently inked a deal with Los Angeles based independent record label BROTHERHOOD INC., and are set to join their already incredibly talented artist roster.
