I’d say trying to describe yourself is one of the hardest things ever to do. Because what you think you see in yourself is not always the way others see you. I find it always more honest if they can describe you.
First and foremost, I believe in love – both the power and the beauty of it. I believe that your girlfriend should be your best friend and that laughter holds the key to happiness. I believe in that first kiss, the first time you made love outdoors and the first time you both look each other in the eyes and say “I love you”.
I believe in honesty, trust, honor and commitment. I believe in going that extra mile and giving that person your entire heart and treating her like gold. I believe in saying how beautiful you are whether she was all dressed up looking her best, or in the middle of a 4 day stretch in bed from being sick. I believe in doing all you can to make that persons life that much easier, even if it sometimes feels your life is a little bit harder.
I believe in the way a child looks into their Mothers eyes and the common bond between them that no one could ever touch. I believe in parents who put their children first above all. I believe in responsibility, homework and good grades. I believe in that first bike ride without training wheels, that first goal they score on the soccer field or that game winning hit that as a parent would make you so proud.
I believe in the way music makes you feel. How a lyric can say exactly what you are feeling in life, even if you don’t personally have the words to say it. I believe how you can relate to a song, whether you love someone, miss someone or just the way it can help you escape life for awhile. I believe in my band, the power and the talent it holds. I believe in the way we can make people forget about their everyday problems and leave them with a smile on their faces. I believe that we all came together and get along so well because of one common goal – to do things our way. I believe in the fans we have, the friends we have made and the girls who we consider members of the band since day one.
I believe in the sound of a way the bat hits the ball, the smell of hot dogs and freshly cut grass at the ballpark. I believe in wild crazy sex in the ladies bathroom at a club with the woman you love just as much as making love with candles lit all around in the comfort of your own bed. I believe in hard work, dedication and believing in yourself. I believe in vacations to far away tropical islands with your chick just as much as I do family vacations with the kids.
I believe in sticking to my guns. That drinking, smoking and doing drugs is just not my thing. I believe in not being your typical musician and sleeping with anyone and everyone. I believe in not crossing that line and leading anyone on. I believe in letting everyone know that if I am involved I am proud to say I am, and won’t hide it for the better of anything else, because nothing else could be better. I believe in going home to the woman I love and not going out looking for the next party. I believe in the way people look at me for this and most of all for the respect I’ve gained for it.
I believe in the woman I have fallen in love with. The look in her eyes and the feeling in my heart the night we first met. I believe in her hopes and dreams and in the support given to her at all times for her to pursue those goals. I believe in the power of us, both seperately and as a team. And because of her I believe in forever.
I believe that if ever lost, trust can be re-gained. And under the right circumstance you can both learn from a mistake helping to make yourselves that much stronger in the future.
Other than love – most importantly I believe in forgiveness. I believe that saying I’m sorry is probably the hardest two words that anyone could say. But, if you truly mean it then there is nothing to be ashamed of. I firmly believe in second chances. I believe that when times are tough and you just aren’t getting along – that simply reaching out with a 2am phone call saying “I miss you” can help everything work out that much easier in the end. I believe that sometimes mistakes are made, but if you really try hard, if you really care, then they can be corrected. I believe that life sometimes throws you curves and either you learn to swerve or your left reminiscing.
