About Me

I am currently living in Shreveport, LA and teaching 6th grade at an inner city middle school. I love my job, and it pretty much consumes all of my time. I have a boyfriend named Charles, and he consumes pretty much the rest of my time. Other than that, I like to read, cook, and workout.

My Interests

Travelling, reading, tennis, cooking, and doing new things, hence the love for travelling.

Music:

Any kind, just has to be good. Dirtfoot, Reel Big Fish, Green Day, Tenacious D, James Taylor, all good classic rock (70's and some 80's), Nelly -- he's funny...see...all types. But really, I mostly listen to NPR.

Television:

I am addicted to Law and Order - just the original. However, it comes on about 6 times a day, so it's not good. I am also addicted to Smallville on DVD. TV ROTS YOUR BRAIN!

Books:

This list could be pages, but here we go: The Book Theif by Markus Suzak, all Harry Potter, Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, anything by Shakespeare, anything by Jared Diamond, actually, The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad, Plowing the Dark by Richard Powers, White Noise by Don DeLillo, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, Maus by Art Speigelman, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by David Eggars, Time Out of Joint by Phillip K. Dick, anything by Ursula LeGuin (very rich reading), Rebecca Wells's books (native Alexandrian), a biography on Darwin, simply titled Darwin -- can't think of authors right now, American Holocaust by David Stannard, and anything by Kurt Vonnegut except Slaugherhouse-Five. Oh, and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
