PNOI

In 1995 Kostas Yfantis met Tasos Kalafatis at "Esperides", a very famous boite in Plaka. They were both working there, Kostas as a singer and Tasos as a pianist. Soon a very strong friendship was born. That friendship led them to the creation of "Pnoi". In 2001 they left "Esperides" and started doing very successful concerts all around Greece but only during summer because during the winter season they worked in different places. Meanwhile the two friends had compose many songs which they kept for themselves as they were very modest. The winter of 2002 found Kostas working in "Methysmenaki" a boite owned by the great Greek lyrist Lefteris Papadopoulos. At that period Kostas met Nikos Papaleontiou, a young Cypriot student who also had a keen interest in greek music and the same influences as Kostas and Tasos (Manos Handjidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Loizos e.t.c.). Very soon Nikos joined "Pnoi" and in 2005 they had a concert tribute to Lefteris Papadopoulos. The concert was very successful, beyond all expectation and Lefteris Papadopoulos himself spoke with the warmest words for the three musicians.
