WiLD Presents LIVE@The Cuban

A night of great original music featuring;

UKSP - Breakbeat is a breath of fresh air. The irrepressible Breakbeat is known to many as a charismatic drummer and musical director. However to the astonishment of many, Breakbeat is also a fluent lyricist, composer, producer and natural born artist. Breakbeat has amassed major credits playing alongside: Kanye West, John Legend, Estelle, Raheem Devaughn and Nate James amongst many others.

FLEXIE - Takes the best of soul, funk & r'n'b & creates a sound that is the definition of cool. He's been compared to people like Lynden David Hall, Marvin Gaye amongst others & is really starting to make waves. Beverley Knight says "I think the style is there, it’s very clear. It’s got that kind of new soul thing, and the vocals are very cool, and sound very effortless. I love where this is going. I can so hear where this could be, and I really like that. He’s got a lovely voice as well.

FIONA CULLEY - has a stunning voice & a stage presence that is relaxed & friendly. Having already worked with a major label she's taking time to produce an album she is happy with. Best described as a mix of country, soul & folk with a twist, her songs work their way into your heart with ease. Catchy choruses ensure you won't forget her once you've heard her..

NATALIA - Pop on the rocks - shaken, stirred and uncontrollably intoxicating! That's the phenomena of the awesome, a highly spirited, spanking fresh talent who literally grabs pop by the scruff of the neck and customises it with her own personal expression of rocky/soul. She's been touring with Girls Aloud this year & has a single out called Random....

Come & blow away those Monday blues with us.

Peace...x

If you missed the show at 333MOTHERBAR on WED 9TH APRIL then you should be kicking yourself right about now! It was definitely one for the books & the line-up delivered on the promise made for excellence.

SOULCYDE, first up to the plate, set the pace with a performance that was brimming with soul & passion. Natz just gets better & better. Her vocal has the power of Tina Turner/Aretha with something that is uniquely hers alone. She is well supported by Toshi who makes the guitar look easy. The crowd were definitely loving them & weren’t shy in showing it… www.myspace.com/soulcyde

TRISHANNE headed up next & also did her thing, sounding right on form. Her voice is also distinctive & pleasurable on the ear. The songs have substance & reports were first class… www.myspace.com/trishannemusic

JULES RENDELL backed by a full band is a great experience. The girl’s got soul! Finally free from her keys we got to see her dancing as she sang. It’s great to see someone looking like they’re having fun performing because it’s so infectious. Musically, the grooves were cool with a jazzy edge. You could see the crowd moving to the beat & enjoying every minute. She certainly gained fans, as she’s done after every performance. Catch her at The Cuban on Mon 28th April… www.myspace.com/julesrendell

SUPA SOUL BROTHA Del is a funk monster! Backed by a band who understand the essence of the groove, he channelled James/Sly/Prince & all those other giants of the genre & put on a show that raised the game to a whole new level. Not just musically, visually as well. It was like seeing one of those classic funk revues up close & personal, true party music. The track you can hear is the penultimate song of the 333 set. When he hit the stage the Mothership connected! Sadly folks, if you weren’t there, you’re gonna have to wait until next year to catch him live again as this was his last show before he heads off to France… www.myspace.com/mysoulosophy

SHUSH, our last offering of the evening, cranked up the guitars & kicked us into a whole other direction. We were ready for them though & the timing was perfect. Milena knows how to control her crowd & we were her’s by this point. “Move forward, come on!” she teased, & we did without hesitation. They kept the standard high & left us wishing the night would never end… www.myspace.com/shushsound

There were a couple of miss-haps.. HEADKNOCKER sadly had to pull out at the last minute as their bass player was stuck somewhere between Leeds & London with no hope of arriving in time for their slot. CHASING STACEY had to cancel due to vocal problems. Keep checking back with us as we’ll be rescheduling their dates soon.

Peace…x
