BLUES FLOWERS appeared on stage in 1993 in Poznan, west of Poland. The band started with playing well known standards in their individual way (Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson, E. McDaniel, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Big Bill Broonzy, Thelonious Monk). Now is also famed for playing originally arranged blues with lyrics full of humour.
BLUES FLOWERS performed many times and entered the most important Polish Blues Festivals: RAWA BLUES (Katowice), BLUESADA (Szczecin), JESIEN Z BLUESEM (Bialystok), BLUES MEETING (Torun), INTERNATIONAL FOLK BLUES MEETING (Poznan), INTERNATIONAL FOLK & BLUES FAIR (Poznan), BLUES EXPRESS (Zakrzewo), BLUES NAD BOBREM (Boleslawiec), INTERNATIONAL MUSIC EXPO – INTERMEDIA (Wroclaw), WARSAW BLUES NIGHT, BLUESTRACJE (Chorzów), OLSZTYNSKIE NOCE BLUESOWE (Olsztyn), BLUES NA KRESACH (Lubaczów) and other. In 1999 BLUES FLOWERS toured in Germany (Hamburg, Kiel, Selent). Over 350 individual concerts gained the group a lot of sympathizers. In spring of 1996, BLUES FLOWERS won (as a first blues band) HOT TOP 10 of Polish National Radio and TV Program 1 (5 weeks on the top with hit video and single “Nie bede grzecznym chlopcemâ€) and later in summer of 1996 video had the Nomination (for scenogfaphy) on Yach Film Festival’96 in Sopot, Poland.
Album “Spoko wodza†became THE BEST BLUES GUITAR ALBUM 2004 in Poland (Guitar Top 2004, Musicians Magazine “Guitar and Bassâ€).
