Starting to learn guitar at the age of 20, I began by trying to write songs rather than following the "academic way" of learning. I tried to write songs even before knowing what a chord was,
just because this "learn by doing" way was more natural to me.
I had learnt to love music little by little, from my parent as a child I was introduced to French singers such as Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens and I felt especially sensible to the power of words, melody and "expressivity". Today I still value those ingredients over anything else.
Later on, I experienced the sensation of travelling into another world while listening to some artists like Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Dead Can Dance and this fed my interest for the art as I saw it as a field where creativity could be expressed without limits.
Finally, I discovered through Nick Drake, Radiohead and others another component of key importance to me which "sealed" my love for music : intimacy, that strange feeling while listening that someone is talking to your soul, somehow.
I love music for all the emotions it can bring to people in any kind of colour, joy, sadness, dream, energy, peace. I love the process of songwriting, the process of following ideas and concepts, the process of shaping them into something that some will hear, comment, maybe appreciate
So, thanks for dropping by here and taking some time to listen.
And if ever you like what I do, take some time to listen as well to those I put as my top friends as you could like them too.
