Neuroma - looking for gigs!

About Me

Neuroma were formed in early 2007 by Harry, Chris, and Matt. We aimed to combine a number of death metal sub-genres in order to create a sound that was eclectic, but without mixing styles so much as to lose focus and direction.
We were heavily influenced by a desire to make music that was reminiscent of classic death metal bands, who always retained a strong sense of catchiness in their music, and also add our own brutal and technical edge.
After a period of initial jamming sessions, mutual friends of the band; Joe (bass) and Gregg (vocals) solidified the line up.
Lyrically, we felt a tongue in cheek approach would suit our personalities best. As a result of this there are references to aspects of our local life and general stupidity in the songs.
Neuroma are firmly opposed to the countless generic deathcore bands that are spewing out of Liverpool, and stand as a reminder that true death metal can still exist in an atmosphere that is un-conducive to it.
We are not a "myspace band" who judges their status in the world by numbers of friends or hits. We are determined to cut our own niche in the death metal scene the way it was done in the past, through solid musical output and energetic live performances.
The band recorded a 2 track demo in February 2008 which is available free of charge from the band on request and/or at live shows. Our material is however always progressing, with Neuroma always attempting to create more interesting and brutal songs.
Neuroma's first official release will be a split CD with Hartlepool's Dawn of Chaos titled 'Northern Discomfort', released through Grindethic Records. Recorded in Foel Studios with engineer Chris Fielding, it will contain 5 tracks of sheer technical brutality.
In December 2008, Chris decided to leave to band, to be replaced by a friend of the band in the form of Paul who will be filling in place of guitar permanently.
Through 2009 Neuroma are storming ahead with the writing of their as yet untitled debut album, with a relase sheduled for early 2010. We are currently looking for label to release this beast.
