BIOGRAPHY:
Clesk aka. 44 100 Hz (László Vidók) was born in Szeged, Hungary in 1982. His interest for music was noticed even when he was a little kid, namely when he tried and eventually broke his parents’ record player. The next step was when he was enrolled to take private piano lessons so that he can have something extra apart from the usual music class in primary school. And that was “all†this poor 10-year-old boy needed, not only did he have to sit through the fearsome music lessons but he got an extra obligation for the afternoons that made him even busier than ever before. It seemed that after all this, he would totally lose his interest in music, but when he got a Yamaha PSS-780 keyboard from his parents, he started to see the beauty in electronic music. It was at the age of 12 when he first started to be interested in electronic music; first it was hip-hop and rap that fascinated him, but then he got enchanted more and more by drum and bass. DJs of the Hungarian ‘Tilos Rádió’ [=Forbidden Radio] and the big names of the international drum and bass scene had a great influence on him. Then in the year 2000, this whole thing changed after a ‘Cinetrip’ party at the Sziget Festival, when breakbeat and progressive became his favorites, and these styles have played a determining role for him ever since. It was in 2002, at the beginning of his college years, when he really started to get acquainted with composing and playing music after getting his first music maker software (Fruity Loops 3) from his roommates and they spent all the boring afternoons practicing on it. Then slowly but surely, using more and more programs and hardware, he started to work his way up; he showed his talent in several musical styles ranging from afro-tribal to techno. Nowadays he is involved in two major projects: he is playing minimalist with a few friends of his under the name ‘44100 Hz’, besides he is also making more melodic and ambient breakbeat, deep and progressive music as ‘Clesk’.
