About Me

I'm Neha/Leila...a musician who lives kind of everywhere. Was in Papua New Guinea working on HIV/AIDS projects. Now live in Rome, Italy...I like paper cups. Food is art. I have a 3-step plan to world domination as well as a voice in my head...I like massive headphones and snow patrol/sufjan stevens, mixed in with a bit of Zero Seven/Jeff Buckley, and a splash of Rocco DeLuca and the Burden all the while with Damien Rice playing in the background. I have two creative inspiration machines. I like closing my eyes really tight and then opening them (my own private light show). Reiki makes up a huge part of my life, and I'm forever learning and understanding the workings of 'energy'.... I like people who like music, and are interesting, and are doing something productive...either in their lives or in their heads. If you have stories, tell me. Oh I like plastic cups too (no favouritism here)...I tend to do absurd things after consuming copious amounts of beer...or merlot..all the while with songs playing in my head...Call me and I'll take you on a winding walk through Trastevere/Trilussa..."Elle est pas mechante Mais putain qu'est ce qu'elle est chiante"
About the songs they were all recorded really quickly (im waiting on a new audio interface as the old one fizzled and popped)..I'll be switching it up abit since I've written heaps in the past few months, just waiting to get into the mood to record it. In the mean time
WOMAN LIKE A MAN- Damien Rice Cover with my own spin to it.
FAR AWAY BLUES- Joe Purdy Cover, recorded when it was raining outside I was feeling kindof reflective.
WEEPING LILY- Written by me, came to me really quickly in the middle of the night. Its about artistic frustration
SET THE FIRE TO THE THIRD BAR- Snow Patrol/Martha Wainwright Cover- Recorded at John B's house after a lot of wine with some friends.
Once I record the rest of my stuff, they'll replace the covers, hope you like :-)
If you're a vocalist, violinist, cellist, percussionist or an anything-ist and you feel like you can contribute something to any of these songs I'd be happy to collaborate long distance :-)
