..:What is a Street Team?:..
The position of street team representative is usually filled by fans of an artist because it is all volunteer work. They form a team of fans and hit the streets to make the music artist more popular through word-of-mouth and hype. They complete simple tasks such as:
* placing stickers and posters in their communities
* bringing friends to the shows
* convincing friends to buy merchandise
* phoning local radio station to request their songs be played
* bringing vinyl and CDs to local DJs in the clubs
* putting up posters and passing out flyers
* posting to forums and bulletin boards online
* maintaining fanpages or websites dedicated to the artist
