About Me

“Call me Ishmael.”
It all started in 2003 across the biggest pond on the Eastern Border of England in two very different towns of Colchester and Speldhurst when Sam Bowyer and Olly Graydon left their homes to travel halfway across the world to meet at Cochrane High School, Alberta, Canada.
After a year of looking for a purpose they found Matt Simpson, a guitarist without a band, and after seeing their high schools Battle of the Bands they decided they could do better and formed a band, Whitebutterfly. With Matt on Guitar, Sam on Bass and Olly on drums they lacked vocals so they found Marc Fernandez with deep cut edge vocals and lyrics of style and intelligence. After proving they could play by winning the Battle of the Bands two years in a row and picking up a draw at numerous gigs they went into the studio to lay down their chops on their first self-titled five song debut EP. In the midst of it all problems arose when the curtains closed. Morals, ideals and beliefs clashed separating the band from their front man.
For their Graduating ceremony Matt, Sam, and Olly played for the first time as a trio with Matt on vocals. The response received was great with numerous opportunities for the future. Whitebutterfly was no more.
With future gigs coming up close Sam and Matt sat down with a guitar, pen and paper creating four songs in two days. By adding the electrics and percussions there songs became the new sound they always wanted. On July 12th, 2008 they played their first show as Enfield out to show the world they could play. With this show a success Sam, Matt, and Olly kept their new name and sound.
Throughout the past 4 years they have traveled together, shared their stories, and the food they could not afford. Enfield are not just a band but a group of friends who breakup then make up, fallout then back together, disagree and agree with each other. All in all they are all together as brothers putting their right foot forward leading them in the direction they want to go.
