About Me

I-N-T-E-N-S-E Collective, The beat gets selected - the mic gets molested, we rape you lyrically you better get yourself tested....Fucking with us, is like dreaming up a deathwish................................................... ...................................................Intense Collective, the North West England based Uk Hip Hop group formed in early 2006 by MC Epitamy and J Toker (AKA Joe Public). The two started the collectives life with a battle rhymes/conceptual approach to existing beats. Producing tracks like Dreaming up a deathwish and Anti-Hero, whilst at the same time S (J Toker's main affiliated producer and legendary drummer of the band Population four) created some voodoo cursed platforms for the pitz and J to step on. From this tracks such as - INTENSE theme, The Colony, Lyrical Avalnche, Deep tune etc. were created, then stemming from this, the group finally could focus their combined energy to form their first underground mixtape/EP - Art Imitating Mics - in 2007. After a few performances supporting the likes of Abdominal & JellyBass and recruiting the Preston based beatbox Equ into their ranks, IC moved into 2008. Performing around Preston and Blackpool the group went from strength to strength slowly carving out a fanbase and earning the respect and appreciation of other artists within the scene. NSR approached the collective in the Summer and after a shaky start from both parties, a strong bond was forged between the small local label and IC. Soon after IC approached the highly talented DJ Este in an attempt to successfully tempt him to their ranks. Now a "four piece" stong (intense) collective with a stage act featuring live vocals, beatbox, turntablism, percussion and pure idiocy the four decided to sit down and write their first full blown LP. However during the process of writing, recording and performing Equ gradually left the group to become a solo artist in his own right (watch out for regular performances from the Human Beatbox machine at Unjust in Preston). Left as a three piece group IC still went from strength to strength performing at The Blackpool Boom monthly and forging strong ties with highly talented people in the industry, picking up positive reviews from the likes of Notes to Self and Abdominal, getting international radio play in Canada, recording tracks such as team, pissed off and drugs and writing potential bangers for the LP. But after a short time J Toker felt he needed a break from life in IC and decided to set his sights in a new direction (watch out for numerous sets, battles and apperances. Plus collabos with the likes of Population four, Amos and NSR etc), mainly towards his own solo LP - The Institutions waiting - set to be released in late Spring 2009. At the same time Epitz is concentrating on his own solo material (watch out for solo sets and his long anticipated LP ) whilst also remaining in Intense Collective with DJ Este...............................So there you go folks.....................That is the story of this small undergound group so far......Watch out for the microphonic madness coming into an eargasm on a player/stage near you..........
