I hate to sound like one of those bitter old timers who complains about everything around us, then praises the good old days. If I do sound like that, it's because..well, I am. When you turn on your radio, and everything you hear is a pasturized, processed, pale version of good old fashioned rock'n'roll, what do you do? You plug in your guitar, and then you refuse to turn the volume down to anywhere even resembling ear-splitting. This band is a living breathing reaction to the loss of all passion in Punk and Indie Rock. We are not looking for approval. We are not looking for fame. We aren't even concerned if you like this at all. We are doing this because it is what we want to hear, our way, our terms. Thanks to all the bands out there that are still keeping it very real! You know who you are, and you still continue to inspire. Johnny Unite Us is much more family than band. This is evident in the passion of their first two anthemic EPs. It's the sound of frustrations shared and felt for many years, finally being resolved in a theraputic prescription of loud guitars and bombastic drums and bass. The lyrics tackle issues such as abuse, divorce, heartache, and raising children in a world where morals are a four letter word. It's a throwback to an era that has sadly been forgotten. From the backroom of a coffee shop in 1997 to a disasterous label showcase in NYC, in 2003, they stuck it out together. A little bit long in the tooth, Johnny Unite Us is doing it for all the right reasons: their love for music and their love for their families. These are not just songs, they are a call to arms. Music this real can only be made by real people. This is a band that won't forget where it came from, or the people who helped pick them up and dust them off along the way. Our thanks to you!
