The idea of starting the band came up on the first of May 2007 when Ludvig Nordgren and Sebastian Edin happened to meet during the annual celebrations of "valborg" (old Swedish tradition that includes singing and huge bonfires, it's about banning witches and burning away the dark of winter or something). Anyway, the two got into a conversation regarding music which in the long run ended up in an idea to form a reggae band. Since both were going to attend the musical programme at Midgårsskolan next semester it seemed a perfect time to put the idea in action.
And so about six months later the two met again at Midgårdsskolan, eager to kick off their long awaited band. A drummer was already acquired in Fernando Tollefsen who said he had never really listened a lot to reggae, never mention played it. However, he turned out to be the drummer of dreams for the upcoming band. Therese joined the band after Sebastian had told her the band had needed a pianist, nothing more to it. Johannes Moen joined in soon afterwards, and even though originally being a guitarist, he fit right into the role of bassist for the band. AnnaMaria Gröhn is something of an original in reggae music, we think. As there were no sax-player or trumpet player in the class, the idea of asking AnnaMaria to play oboe in the band quickly came up. The official invitation might have lacked some glamour, Fernando and Sebastian bluntly asking her at a party way past midnight, but she joined anyway spicing up the band tremendously. Unni Fernerud joined the band to fill the gap left behind former vocalist Alexandra Knutsson (whose voice you can hear on the recordings put up on this site, as they were recorded some time ago), comfortably taking on the role as if she's been around all along.
The songs you hear on this website were recorded at Ballerina Audio in Bullmark, the sweetest recording studio we know.
