It all started in 2006, with a poor excuse for a band called Stricken By Evil featuring Half Pint on drums, Mauro on Vocals, Piggy on guitar, and Mike on bass. It was a random wall of noise, with vocals usually improvised on the spot. One by one, fed up with drama, they all quit. Then one day in late Sept. 2007 Mike, Half Pint, and Mauro, still good friends after the demise of S.B.E., were hanging out in Chino. The three missed music, and decided right then and there to try again, but this time with a new band, new guitarist, and new style. Mauro called up his friend Ice Age, and made plans to Jam. The four still hadn’t gotten around to jamming when, after a friend’s death, were scheduled to play a benefit show in two weeks. After quickly throwing together a few generic “party thrash†songs, they played the show then took a bit off to build the Mutant house in December of 2007. Mutants of War returned to the stage after months of long practices, and writing new material, throwing out most of their original songs. After months of playing and practicing, they realized that the simple generic thrash they were making wasn’t what they wanted, and to expand musically would need the support of a rhythm guitarist. After auditioning a few people, then guitar tech Piggy was brought in. As a five piece Mutants of War continued there intense practice schedule, and after playing numerous shows including a sold out show at the knitting factory, supporting Dr. Know and Municipal Waste, recorded a four song Demo. After creative and personal differences the four decided Piggy was not the right choice for the band and brought in their friend Steve-o of primevil, soon after founding bassist ,and still great friend of the band, Mike "Caveman" Garcia followed Piggy and was replaced by another ex-primevil member Juan (or J-wan). M.O.W. continues to look for shows, write new music, and will soon record a second attempt at a demo.Creatures
