Schylar Shoates & "The Stuff"

About Me

"If I'm not writing, recording, producing & performing my own music, then I might as well not be here." That's why Schylar Shoates created Schylar Shoates & "The Stuff".
Schylar has been busy playing and producing recording sessions for established artists and live shows with up-and-coming musicians, but realizes what's most important: to be playing His own brand of "Rock 'N Roll".
Schylar Shoates & "The Stuff" are all about creating "original-modern rock & roll" with roots firmly established in the classics of the past. By embracing timeless roots they branch out beyond the contemporary trends like mascara-makeup rock and the "I hate my dad" sound that defines too much of the rock music found today.
There would be no Schylar Shoates without "The Stuff":
Jason Hees--drums--is "The Hammer". When Jason is not busy beating things with sticks, he's raising millions for Charlie's Fund, to find a cure for muscular dystrophy. All you have to do is watch the documentary film "Darius Goes West" to see what kind of human being Jason Hees is. Beyond that, Jason happens to be one of the greatest drummers around, an integral part of "The Stuff"s sound.
Ben Thomas--keyboard, guitar, vocals--is a musical prodigy. After earning a scholarship to Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ben decided to take a break from classes because, he learned, "they can't teach you soul." A triple threat, Ben gives "The Stuff" the flexibilty of having a great keyboardist, guitarist & background vocalist for any given arrangement. He also gives "The Stuff" its raucous spirit.
Craig Woelber--bass, vocals--holds down the low end for "The Stuff". He also contributes high harmony vocals and he makes it look good. Mr. Woelber is very hip to what works for the song and is a nuaunce instrumentalist. He also understands the importance of the groove. Craig was an instant fit, musically and stylistically, and he brings an added dimension of musicality that rounds out the sound of Schylar Shoates & "The Stuff".
