"Life is whatever you make it," says the 18year old rap and poetry prodigy. Tommy simpson, a.k.a T. Hawk, is one of the co-founders of Small Time Losers Entertainment (alongside Anthony Chestnut), founded January 23rd 2008.
After being dissappointed by his favorite rap superstar(Lupe Fiasco) after a concert, T. Hawk and Anthony Chestnut(Tone) came up with the idea to create their own unique blend of music by combining r&b, rap, spoken word, and gospel into one magfnificent work of art, or, in this case, artists.
"The main purpose of S.T.L is to show the world that just because we aren't in the limelight doesn't mean we can't be successful. We might've come from bad parts of town, but each of us has a unique and valuable talent that can elevate us above and beyond even the highest of expectations."
Tommy Simpson was raised in the shady city of Oak Cliff with his mother and sister. At a young age, he displayed abnormally creative talents. "At the age of eight, I wrote my first book. At ten, my first candy business." As time progressed, his skills grew more and more. At age sixteen, Tommy transferred to carter high school and met Darius Frasure, the founder of the Carter Literary Society. There he would meet Anthony Chestnut, thus the beginning of a beautiful alliance. "After he told me he could rap and do poetry, I had no choice but to get him in a studio." Tommy and Anthony thus formed S.T.L, the Small Time Losers. "Its basically just our way of displaying our talents and the talents of those we saw had potential. We've got a nice selection of artists that we think the world are really going to enjoy. S.T.L: Up, up and Away."
