About Me

Nick Maxwell began his career as a DJ in 1994 and quickly graduated from a bedroom DJ to a regular player on the club scene in Nottingham and around the Midlands.
Whilst living in the French Alps for a while towards the end of the 90’s, Nick became heavily involved in the snowboarding scene and was soon blessing the mountain bars and clubs with his vibrant mix of hip-hop, funk and drum & bass.
Nick moved back to England in 2000 and settled in Brighton, where he now lives. He plays at various club nights and large-scale extreme sports events around the UK and in Europe, having previously played at events such as Board-X, the Urban Games and the British Snowboard & Freeski Championships (the Brits) out in Switzerland.
He also works regularly with producer Tom Caruana and plays live hip-hop shows, and having previously been DJ for The Menagerie crew with MC's Elemental, Koaste and Dr Syntax, he now forms part of Special School alongside Elemental and Jon Clark.
Having notched up over 15 years of experience on the turntables, Nick is fully accustomed to playing as part of a live ensemble, as well as dropping dynamic sets as a solo DJ.
Check out the tunes above for examples of Nick's recorded cuts, and look out for his ongoing 'Adventures in Hip-Hop' mixtape series...
